The Hammett Prize je ocenění, které udílí severoamerická pobočka Mezinárodní asociace autorů detektivek "International Association of Crime Writers" autorům knih s kriminálním či detektivním tématem. Jedná se o organizaci, kteří tvoří národní pobočky s cílem podpořit komunikaci mezi autory všech národností. Podporuje psaní detektivek jako vlivný a významný druh umění a rovněž překlad knih tohoto žánru. Asociace je známá i pod názvem "Asociacion Internacional de Escritores Policianos" (AIEP).
Oceněný autor z Kanady nebo USA získá trofej nazvanou „Thin Man“, kterou vytvořil Peter Boiger.

Každý rok je nominováno 3-5 knih (romány nebo i sbírky krátkých povídek od jednoho autora).
Přinášíme vám výsledky od roku 1991. Každý rok obsahuje nominace a červeně jsou označeni majitelé cen.
